‘Bhatt has no right to turn crusader’
Former BJP MP from Pali Pushp Jain said Gujarat IPS Sanjeev Bhatt has no right to come as crusader as he was involved in framing a false case against advocate Sumer Singh Rajpurohit to settle a property dispute.
“Mr Bhatt was posted as superintendent of police in neighbouring Palanpur district,” says Mr Jain.
“Mr Bhatt hatched a conspiracy with additional judge R.R. Jain, who wanted to get evict a shop owned by his sister in Pali and rented out to Mr Rajpurohit, it was in 1996 when the Gujarat police made arrest of the lawyer Rajpurohit under Narcotics Susubstances Act,” Mr Jain said.
Talking to media in Jaipur on Tuesday, Mr Jain said it was Mr Bhatt’s criminal act and he deserve condemnation. Mr Bhatt planted narcotics in a hotel room in Palanpur and Mr Rajpurohit was arrested for that. It resented lawyers community and the lawyers staged a wide-spread protest and the authorities probed the matter, the former BJP MP said.
According to Mr Jain, the National Human Right Commission also reacted shapely and asked the state government to take action against IPS Bhatt. Speaking on behalf of Pali Bar Association, Mr Jain said it was a glaring example of misuse of the police.
