A Hollywood flick from Kochi
If all goes well, Joeshva Ronaldo will soon give tough competition to Manoj Night Shyamalan as a maker of supernatural Hollywood thrillers with a distinctive “Keralite” touch.
Ronaldo’s film, Secret of Triangle Sign, has been shot entirely in Kochi, Kerala’s economic capital. The thrilling fantasy film with many a hair-raising moments has a complete foreign cast.
“We’ve already held first-round talks with Paramount Pictures for the film’s international distribution,” said Ronaldo, who, besides wielding the camera, has also directed the film. “The talks have been highly fruitful.”
This is not the first time that an international co-production has come from India but Ronaldo claims that Secret of Triangle Sign is unique.
“This venture will stand out because it’s for the first time Indians have taken hold of the making of an entire Hollywood film,” he said. “Both the production and post production technical hands are from Kerala.”
The film will see actors from England, Italy and Netherlands, including Vladimir Pasannanti, Valeria Garganov, Yokama Turkenburg, Nelson Daiz and Beatrice, in the main roles. Another highlight is that the sound mixing is being done by Oscar winner Resul Pookkutty.
“In this film, we’ve also used advanced techniques which would even prompt the Hollywood film buffs to sit up and watch,” added Ronaldo, a native of Neyyattinkara in Thiruvananthapuram.
The film revolves around the mystery of Indian Tantric device called the “triangle yantra” which is rooted in ancient tradition.
“Satan wants to destroy the whole creation by God and he finds a scientist to execute his mission,” said Ronaldo. “An astral being from twenty million light years away comes out to save the planet earth. That is the theme.” The shooting of the film has already been completed and dubbing work is now in progress. The film is expected to hit the screens worldwide next year.
