Zafar Pahelwan a conspiracy victim: Family
Zafar Pahelwan’s family, at a press meet held at their residence in old city, clarified that the bones recovered from their house by the police were part of the “study material” for his daughter pursuing her medical course.
Pahelwan’s eldest daughter, Dr Farhana, who is pursuing a PG medical course, said, “The bones were provided to me by the Deccan College of Medical Sciences when I was doing my MBBS. It was part of the anatomy course. I was not there at the time of the raid. I was on night duty at Shadan Institute of Medical Science.”
Pahelwan’s family alleged that police harassed them during the raid. The raid began at 3 pm and carried on till late at night. All the women and children in the house were ushered into a corner and were not allowed to go out and get food or other necessities.
They said Pahelwan was victim of conspiracy. “He has represented the country at several national and international games. He will never resort to illegal activities,” they said.
When asked about the tomb within the compound wall, they said that in 2006 there was a dispute and the HC had ruled in their favour.
