Woman dies in blast while cooking food
A 35-year-old housewife died in a gas cylinder explosion when she was cooking food for her husband.
The incident took place under Ramachandrapuram police station limits. Her husband too was injured when he tried to save her. The victim was identified as Pala Magala Lakshmi. According to the police, Lakshmi’s husband Swamy came home late on Monday night and was hungry. So, she decided to cook for him. When she lit up the stove, the cylinder exploded as the gas was leaking.
Swamy ran towards her and tried to save her as soon as he noticed Lakshmi on fire. However, the effort was in vain. Swamy too was severely burned and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Lakshmi died in the explosion on the spot. The couple had two sons and a daughter. A case has been registered and is being investigated.
