Wipro staff get toffee to skip traffic checks

Cyberabad traffic cops issued Total Offence Free Entry (TOFFEE) certificates to the employees of Wipro in the city on Thursday. Commissioner of police D. Tirumala Rao said that with the TOFFEE stickers displayed on their vehicles, the employees of Wipro would be exempted from the routine vehicle checking by traffic police in the Cyberabad area. “The TOFFEE certificate is issued after checking the validity of all the necessary documents of the vehicle,” he said on Thursday.

The TOFFEE scheme is an initiative launched by the Cyber-abad police in association with the MNCs located in Cyberabad area. “When they see this sticker, the cops will know that the driver possess all the valid documents,” Mr Tirumala Rao said. However, drivers would not be excused for anything other than routine checking. Asked if individual citizens could avail of the scheme, the commissioner said there had to be an organised system in order to get these certificates, hence as of now, only employees of organisations and MNCs could obtain it. The Cyberabad police plans to issue the certificates to other MNCs and organisations in Cyberabad.
