Will ask Nani to rethink: Jr NTR
Denying any role in state legislator Kodali Nani's exit from the Telugu Desam, actor Junior NTR on Monday said he was busy with his career in films and has no desire to take up the party's reins. “I will certainly ask Mr Nani to rethink on quitting the TD,” he said adding, “but I don't know why he quit the party. It's his decision (and) you better ask him.”
Refuting rumours that he has kept off TD activities of late due to differences with party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, the actor denied that the Gudivada MLA quit on his “direction and screenplay”.
“I strongly condemn such reports,” he said. “Mr Nani is close to me but it’s absurd to say he quit on my direction and screenplay. There are no differences in the family. NTR is my icon and his contribution to the Telugu community is immense. As his grandson, I will stand by the party as long as I live.”
Junior NTR said he kept himself away from party activities and election campaigning primarily due to his busy film schedule. He said, “I am just 28; I have a long way to go. It’s foolish to think I have acquired political knowledge. I kept away from TD activities due to films, which are my bread and butter. I have no desire to enter active politics right now.”
