Vijay Raghav’s custody extended
The Special Court for CBI cases on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of Emaar accused G.V. Vijay Raghav and N. Sunil Reddy till March 30. While they were being remanded, defence counsel E. Uma Maheswara Rao submitted to the court that they were entitled to be released as no material could be found against them. The defence counsel pointed out that CBI is hoping to get some incriminating material against the accused in future and they can’t be detained until then.
CBI judge B. Naga Maruthi Sharma asked them to file a separate petition, if they are seeking any relief.
The court also extended the remand of Gali Janardhan Reddy, B.V. Srinivas Reddy and V.D. Rajagopal, accused in the OMC illegal mining case, till April 2. Though Gali Janardhan Reddy was not produced, his remand was extended after jail authorities filed a memo stating that he is in the Bengaluru jail in connection with a different case.
