Uncertainty continues over hajis’ Rubath stay
Uncertainty continues to haunt 500 hajis who have been chosen to stay at the Nizam’s guest house in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
For the last 15 years, the Nizam’s Auqaf committee has been selecting ‘deserving’ Haj pilgrims for free stay at the Nizam’s guest house. Each haji selected for stay in Rubath stood to save Rs 35,000.
But the selection process has taken a hit now, following a conflict between the Nizam’s Auqaf committee in the city and the custodian of the guest house in Mecca.
When the custodian selected the hajis through draws, the Auqaf committee promptly declared the procedure null and void. They also decided to hold a parallel draw on August 3.
But uncertainty now prevails as the Auqaf committee hasn’t voiced its stand on the matter yet. Sources from the committee said they will hold a meeting on Saturday to decide on the draw and the picture would be clearer after that.
