TRS keeps up the tempo on Telangana
Going by the developments in New Delhi, the Telangana issue seems to be nearing a climax, even as TJAC and other T-supporters seemed determined to go ahead with the Telangana march in Hyderabad on September 30, if the Centre fails to arrive at a decision.
TRS MLAs, led by Etala Rajender, who met Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy over constituency problems, rejected the latter’s plea to postpone the march in view of the Ganesh immersion on Sept. 29 and the biodiversity meet on October 1.
They told the Chief Minister that they would consider his request if the government moved a resolution in the Assembly on Telangana, asking the Centre to take necessary action. Mr Reddy reportedly expressed his inability to do so.
The MLAs told the CM that the march was called by TJAC and other T-organisations and they had extended support. They requested him to give his permission for the T-march.
Balladeer Gaddar, who met the Chief Minister separately, made a similar request. However, Mr Reddy categorically ruled out permission.
With an eye on Delhi developments, TRS MLAs also kept up the Telangana fire in the Assembly by demanding a T-resolution and disrupted the proceedings again on Friday.
