Tough cop on liquor mafia trail shifted to pacify Botsa
In a midnight drama on Tuesday, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy shifted K. Srinivasa Reddy, who was heading the Special Investigation Team of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in the infamous liquor scam, to an insignificant post.
A few minutes before midnight on Tuesday, the government issued the orders posting him as Inspector-General of Coastal Security, a near defunct post. The decision comes within days of the High Court appreciating the functioning of the SIT headed by Mr Srinivasa Reddy. More importantly, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana had complained to the Congress high command that the CM was trying to defame him through the SIT probe. The officer’s transfer is being seen as a message from Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy to the party bosses that he had never targeted the PCC chief.
