Telugu actress and pimp arrested for running brothel

The Banjara Hills police on Saturday arrested a small time Telugu film actress and her pimp for running a brothel.

Police arrested R. Tara Chowdhary and one Prasad on the complaint of a girl who the duo was forcing into prostitution.

According to the Banjara Hills cops, when the woman, a native of Visakhapatnam, lodged a complaint they raided Chowdhary’s residence at Banjara Hills and arrested her and the pimp. According to the complaint, the girl was initially brought from Vizag to work as a maid.

The police booked cases under Sections 364, 324, 444, 354 of IPC and 3, 4, 5 - Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act.

Tara Chowdhary, who acted in low-budget movies such as Adrushyam, Rakshakudu, Priya Sakhi and Love Ticket, was held twice before on the same charges.
