TD leader goes missing in city
A local Telugu Desam leader went missing on Sunday night under the Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) police station limits. The victim, Chandrasekhar Reddy, 43, left his home at Jayabharath Nagar in Nizampet at 7.30 pm on Sunday and dropped one of his daughters at the NRI College hostel. Though it is rumoured that Mr Reddy was killed and his body was found in a gunny bag at Yousufguda, the police did not confirm the report.
According to the police, his car met with an accident the same night. However, his wife, Ms Sujatha, was informed by the SR Nagar police about the accident on Monday. They told her that one Venkatesh Babu tried to bargain with the cops, through mediapersons, to release the car. She got suspicious as her husband had been getting threatening calls from Venkatesh Babu over the phone. She lodged a complaint with the KPHB police on Monday night claiming that her husband told her after dropping his daughter at the hostel that he was going to meet one Ankala Sriramulu who had been waiting for him, and that there was no trace of him since then. She lodged a complaint with the police naming fives persons, including Ankala Sriramulu, Bandi Ramesh and Venkatesh Babu and TV reporters Murali and Dastu.
The West Zone DCP, Mr Stephen Raveendra, said the news of the victim being murdered were just rumours and said that the case was being investigated. Mr Chandrasekhar Reddy is the president of the Hafeezpet Telugu Yuvatha.
