Tara has cops, businessmen in her tapes
Audio tapes and a diary recovered from Tollywood actor Tara Choudary has created quite a flutter. The audio was recorded on Ms Choudary’s mobile phone and included her midnight conversations with policemen and businessmen.
Ms Choudary was recently charged with trying to force women into the sex trade and is under arrest. She is alleged to have contacts with several VIPs including two MPs and a minister. City police sources said that a prominent gutka trader’s name has featured in the diary. “It was written in her diary, ‘Murder Kosam,’ meaning ‘for murder’. The name of the gutka trader and his phone number is written in the diary,” said an investigator.
The businessman has close links with top politicians including a former chief minister. He has a guest house in Banjara Hills. The audio tapes seized by the police record a conversation Ms Choudary had with a police sub-inspector as well as the businessman. “In one of the recordings she asked for Rs 5 lakh from the businessman. We are verifying the tapes,” said a police official.
Tara Choudary, alias R. Rajeswari, is a native of Kammavaripalem in Pamur mandal of Prakasham district and a resident of Banjara Hills. Her husband R. Durga Prasad, a resident of Navodaya Colony in Banjara Hills and a native of Vijayawada, was arrested along with her on March 31 under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act, criminal intimidation, molestation and threatening.
