SSC results delayed again, out on May 24
The SSC results have been postponed yet again, this time to May 24 at 11 am. While the results were originally scheduled to be announced at 11.30 am on May 23, the schedule of minister for secondary education K. Parthasarathi, who is currently busy campaigning in Tirupati, had forced the SSC Board to postpone the results to 4.30 pm on May 23.
However, the Board received a communication from the minister’s office on Tuesday that Mr Parthasarathi would not reach Hyderabad by Wednesday, thus forcing it to defer the results again. Mr Parthasarathi, however, denied that the results were being delayed because of his busy election schedule and said that they had been postponed by a day due to “technical reasons”, since this was the first time the Board was announcing the results in “grades.”
Mr Parthasarathi said the new grading process would take more time, since the officials were trying to ensure that no mistakes occurred. According to SSC director B. Manmadha Reddy, the results were postponed to May 24, as the timing of 4.30pm on May 23 was inconvenient to the concerned officials. However, anxious students and parents expressed a dissatisfaction. “This is an issue concerning nearly 13 lakh students. Why must only the minister release the results? Why does the SSC Board not follow CBSE and ICSE Boards, which release results and upload them on the websites?” asked Mr B. Praveen Kumar, a software engineer, whose daughter is waiting for her SSC results.
