Srilakshmi out of jail after 276 days
Following the special CBI court's order, suspended IAS officer Y. Srilakshmi was on Tuesday released by the Chanchalguda jail authorities after 276 days in custody.
Ms Srilakshmi was arrested on January 6 for her alleged role in Obula-puram mining scam.
The CBI special court here approved her release after her husband, IPS officer Y. Gopi Krishna and aunt Satyawati submitted sureties of `50,000 each to the court and surrendered her passport.
The court granted interim bail to Ms Srilakshmi on Monday to enable her undergo treatment for disc dislocation at the NIMS. She has to surrender before the court on 21 January 2013.
She was arrested on charges of receiving hefty bribes for showing preferential treatment to the OMC and misutilising her authority while serving as industries and commerce secretary.
Ms Srilakshmi was taken to her residence in SR Nagar immediately after her release.
