Speaker’s mother passes away
Hyderabad, April 15: Nadendla Lalitha, wife of former Chief Minister Nadendla Bhaskar Rao and mother of Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar, passed away in New Delhi on Sunday morning. She was 72. Ms Lalitha was suffering from heart ailment and was undergoing treatment at the Escort Hospital in New Delhi.
She had also undergone a surgery recently, which failed. Ms Lalitha breathed her last at the hospital early in the morning. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and other leaders expressed their condolences to Mr Bhaskar and Mr Manohar. The final rites of Nadendla Lalitha would be performed at Punjagutta Shamshana Vatika on Monday. As news of the death spread, a large number of friends, relatives and well-wishers called on the Speaker to express their condolences.
