Sonia tells CM to decide fate of Dharmana
Congress president Sonia Gandhi is believed to have given a free hand to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in the matter of accepting the resignation of roads and building minister Dharmana Prasada Rao who has been chargesheeted by the CBI.
She is also believed to have conveyed her willingness to consider similar action in case any other minister is named by the CBI or any other investigating agency.
The CM had a 40-minute meeting with Mrs Gandhi on Friday afternoon at her 10 Janpath residence in Delhi.
AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad was also present. Pradesh Congress Committee pr-esident Botsa Satyanarayana, who has been ca-mping in Delhi for the last four days, was not invited for the meeting.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy is said to have told Mrs Gandhi that the court has not taken the case on record so far and, thus, there is no need to accept Mr Prasada Rao’s resignation immediately.
