Skywalk near Secunderabad station soon

Pedestrians will soon get the much-needed skywalk at the Rethifile-Secunderabad Railway Station-Monda market stretch. The skywalk will start from Rethifile bus complex and will be constructed over the central median. It will have multiple exits towards Uppal bus stand, Rethifile bus stand, railway station and Monda market.

Though the original proposal was to provide arms towards the Keyes’ High School, the Gurudwara and Oliphanta bridge as well, it was set aside due to the alignment of Hyderabad Metro Rail corridor-II. “We can add more arms to the skywalk in future if needed. We are requesting the Metro Rail to bear 50 per cent of the total Rs 7.20 crore project cost as the skywalk would benefit the metro rail users also,” GHMC engineer-in-chief R. Dhan Singh said.
