Ruby sorry for telecast of documentary
Ruby television in old city, which was recently attacked for allegedly telecasting a film on a prophet, clarified that they were misunderstood. The channel had aired a documentary film titled ‘Prophet Yousaf’ that was made in Iran.
The documentary has already been screened in Islamic countries like Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, etc., clarified the channel management in a press meet on Saturday. They further clarified that the documentary is also available on the Internet and CDs and DVDs are also available in the market, as there is no ban on it by the government or any other Constitutional body.
The channel said it aimed to impart the teachings of the prophet to viewers through the documentary. The management further apologised to the viewers, if their religious sentiments were hurt because of the film that was telecasted on the channel. The channel would resume telecasting from Sunday.
