Railway cops rescue nine children
The Secunderabad Railway Police rescued nine children being used as labour at an iron recycling factory in Mahbubnagar on Thursday. The cops arrested Sanjay Jain Chouradia, owner of Kshree Metallurgies Pvt Ltd, Naresh Kumar Sharma, manager, and Mahesh, one of the brokers who trafficked the children from Bihar and Jharkhand under Sections 374 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 14 of the Child Labour Prohibition and Regulation Act.
The case came to light and the raid was conducted on the factory when Secunderabad Railway Police inspector N. Ashok Kumar found a distraught 13-year-old boy at the Secunderabad railway station who told him that he had escaped from the hellish place of work. He said the children were brought to the factory 15 days ago, and were put up in a shabby room with no proper food or clothing. The children were forced to carry coal. The children were sent to a government rescue home at Saidabad.
