Prisoner flees on way to Cherlapally jail

A prisoner gave the slip to police when he was being brought to the Cherlappally jail in a police vehicle. Kushaiguda police said the accused M. Venkateshwaralu, a native of Prakasam district, was brought from Nirmal court, Adilabad, when he jumped off the police jeep and ran away at Cherlappally industrial area near Rail Vihar. He is involved in a dacoity case in Adilabad district. According to Kushaiguda inspector V. Srikant Goud, after a court hearing in Adilabad, police was bringing him to jail on Monday midnight. “The driver slowed down on seeing a speed-breaker when the accused jumped off the jeep and escaped,” he said.
