Parents go for DNA test to identify boy
Kin of Avinash Madarap, a victim of the train fire tragedy, who was a software engineer with TCS, Chennai, opted for a DNA test as they failed to identify his body among the dead at the mortuary here on Tuesday. Avinash’s father Gowrisankar, assistant registrar in Kakatiya University, said he searched for his son’s name in the list of those admitted in hospitals, but didn’t find him.
“I went to the station to see him off on Sunday night. He asked me to go home carefully since it was raining,” Mr Gowrisankar said. He broke down when he returned from the mortuary after failing to find his son. “My son is more than 6 feet tall and none of the bodies match his height,” Mr Gowrisankar said. The DMHO, Dr Masilamani, said that the kin of Avinash have opted for DNA test as there is no other alternative left to identify the body.
