NRI techie ends life over marital issues

A thirty-year-old software engineer, working in South America, was found dead in a car at Kukatpally on Sunday evening. Police suspect that the man, Anil Kumar, a native of Karem-pudi in Guntur, committed suicide as he was depressed over his marital life.

Anil appears to have cons-umed poison in a parked car in front of his brother-in-law’s house at Enadu Colo-ny, Vivekanada Nagar. He had returned here from Chile on Saturday, alone. Police said he left a suicide note saying he was unhappy with his marital life.

The suicide came to light when Anil’s brother- in-law, Suresh, came out of his ho-me and found him in a Volk-swagen Jetta in front of his home. The car’s windows were open and the deceased was lying in the front seat. People gathered at the spot and the police was called in.

According to the police, the suicide note found from the man’s shirt pocket said that he had a lot of expectations from his marital life; and that he was disappointed and didn’t want to live in this world anymore. Anil had got married a year ago and was living in the US with his wife. He worked as a software engineer for the last five years in Santiago, police added.

Anil arrived at the Rajiv Gandhi airport here on Sat-urday, while his wife stayed back. He had not informed his relatives in the city or Guntur about his presence here.

“He came to the city and stayed in Sitara Hotel at the Kukatpally Housing Board area without informing his relatives. Today evening, he came near to his brother in law’s house, but didn’t get inside the house. He parked the car in front of the house and consumed poison,” police said.

The vehicle was a rented car that Anil took from the RGI Airport, the police added.

Police informed the relatives and shifted the body to the Gandhi Hospital Mortuary for post mortem. A case is booked under CrPc section 174 in Kukatpally police.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
