No permission to dig roads in city
A co-ordination meeting between the city police commissioner and the GHMC authorities has decided to stop all road cutting permissions given by the concerned departments and ensure that no manholes remain uncovered on the city roads. The meeting, in which the representatives of the city traffic police and the Water Board were present, was held at the city police commissionerate office on Thursday to discuss the preparedness of Hyderabad for the impending monsoon. The officials decided to form teams at the GHMC division level in order to face emergency situations.
The meeting pointed to the need for an effective communication between the traffic police and the GHMC divisions in an effort to enforce quick responses to crises. It emphasised the need for a co-ordination among all the concerned departments —particularly the GHMC, the Water Board, and the traffic police — in solving the problems of water logging and traffic congestion in the city during the monsoon season.
