Mopi grilled by CBI on Vanpic
Excise minister Mopidevi Venkataramana and senior IAS officer Manmohan Singh were questioned by the CBI on Tuesday in connection with government orders issued in the Vadarevu And Nizampatnam Port and Industrial Corridor (Vanpic) case.
Mr Venkataramana told the CBI that the GOs in question were issued based on Cabinet decisions. He was grilled at the Dilkusha Guest House for four hours on the case and also on investments made in the firms belonging to Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Mr Singh was questioned regarding the GOs issued pertaining to Vanpic project.
Later, speaking to newspersons, Mr Venkataramana said, “I answered all the questions posed by the CBI. I told them everything is done based on Cabinet decisions. There was no pressure on me. Officials who were party to the GOs were also questioned.” “There is nothing like I was questioned as a witness or an accused. The CBI asked me details of GOs and the Vanpic project,” Mr Venkataramana further added.
