MLA’s son, aide held with drugs
The Uppal police arrested Dornakal Telugu Desam MLA Satyavathi Rathod’s son and Karimnagar municipal commissioner L. Ravinder Rao’s son here on Thursday for alleged possession of contraband drugs at a municipal park in Uppal.
According to the police. the youngsters, identified as B. Sunil Kumar Rathod, an MBA, and his friend, L. Abhijeet Bharadwaj, a BBA graduate, were consuming ganja in public while residents of the area were taking a walk in the park.
The police, who were passing by the park at around 9 pm, noticed the two boys and got suspicious. When the police began walking towards them to question them, the two started running. The police gave a chase and caught hold of them.
In the course of questioning them, the police found 13 grams of ganja and two Fortwin injections on them. The two boys were taken into judicial custody.
Last year some film personalities and foreigners were arrested on drug charges here.
