Missing boy’s body found in river
The body of a 13-year-old boy reported missing a few days ago was found floating in the Meerpet river.
The deceased M. Vishal, a Class VII student of S.R Digi High School, went missing on July 18. The police started a search for the boy after a missing complaint was registered by his parents the next day.
On July 18 evening, a group of people noticed a boy crying for help in the river and alerted the police. All efforts to save the boy went in vain. He drowned and the rescuers couldn’t find the body. On Friday, when the body surfaced, the police called Vishal’s parents for identification.
Vishal’s father M. Rajendra said, “Vishal didn’t want to go to school on July 18 and I scolded him. He was angry and went to the riverside to while away time. He always does that. I never thought he will not return home.” Rajendra is an autorickshaw driver who also works as milk delivery man.
“I have been working hard so that he could study and achieve something in life. I am heartbroken.”
A case was registered and a probe is on, said ASI Mohan Reddy of the Meerpet police.
