Ministers up in arms against power cuts
The unscheduled power cuts in the state were resented by most ministers during the Cabinet meeting on Friday.
Raising their voice against the critical power situation in the state, some of them even asked the CM to declare a crop holiday for the state.
Minister D.L. Ravindra Reddy complained that long hours of power outage at his Gachibowli residence spoke volumes of the difficult situation.
One minister pointed out that there was no use supplying power for one or two hours a day as farmers could not water their entire fields in that time. He suggested that it would be instead better to supply power on alternate days.
When medical and health minister Kondru Murali intervened and said that the CM had been working overnight to get additional power, some ministers chided at him for defending the CM. The CM assured them that the situation would improve.
Later the issue of auctioning the river sand reaches came up for discussion and again most ministers complained about the non-availability of sand for construction activities that has been halted for four months. The CM promised to look into the issue.
