Metro rail to provide free bicycles from stations
The Hyderabad Metro Rail will provide free bicycles to commuters at all its stations. HMR officials say the aim is to promote environment-friendly commuting among people.
Commuters can avail bicycles free of cost to travel to nearby destinations from metro stations.
Exclusive modern bicycle stations will be set up for the purpose. Bicycle stations will come up at 27 metro rail stations along the Corridor-I route from Miyapur to LB Nagar, 16 stations along Corridor-II route from JBS to Falaknuma and 23 stations along Corridor-III route from Nagole to Raidurg. “Bicycle tracks have been planned with the GHMC,” said Mr NVS Reddy, managing director, HMR. “Commuters with a valid metro rail pass can take a bicycle free of cost, ride to their nearest destination and return it,” he said.
