Mantri forced on the defensive
Despite PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana’s efforts, the feud between sulking health minister D.L. Ravindra Reddy and supporters of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy continued on Friday.
Law minister Erasu Pratap Reddy demanded that the severest action be taken against Dr Ravindra Reddy for his comments against the Chief Minister.
“If Dr Ravindra Reddy did not like the Chief Minister's style of functioning he should quit the Cabinet in the interest of the party,” he said. Mr Pratap Reddy hoped that the high command would take disciplinary action against the minister soon.
Meanwhile, Kamalapur-am MLA G. Veera Siva Reddy and other leaders plan to leaving for Delhi on Saturday to complain against the health minister and to seek his immediate removal from the Cabinet.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, who too would be in Delhi on Saturday to ink a pact with his Maharashtra counterpart on the sharing of the Pranahita waters, would also meet the party high command regarding Dr Ravindra Reddy’s comments against him.
The Chief Minister is concerned that the minister's repeated outbursts could send a wrong signal to the party cadre and ultimately damage the party.
