Man tied to rail track run over
The body of a labourer was found tied to the tracks on Thursday morning at Nadagam in Kuttoor mandal of Mahabubnagar district. Police said that the victim had been run over by a train early on Thursday morning and added that it might be a case of murder or suicide. The Kachiguda railway police found the body on Thursday and, after an investigation, identified the victim as S. Narshimalu.
Narshimalu, 27, had worked for Anantha Reddy, 65, as a shepherd. The police explained that a few days ago a buffalo that Narshimlu was looking after had drowned, for which Mr Anantha Reddy blamed Narshimlu. Referring to the dispute and altercation, the villagers and relatives of Narshimalu alleged that Mr Anantha Reddy might have got the victim killed by tying him up to the railway tracks.
The police said, however, that it could have been a suicide, as the victim's hands were not tied, due to which they suspect Narshimlu might have committed suicide. They were following the murder angle, too, following the allegations made by the villagers, they said. The police booked a case of suspicious death and is investigating.
