Man afraid of adverse court verdict ends life
Nine years after his wife committed suicide, and her kin lodged a case of dowry death, a middle-aged man was found dead in his office here on Tuesday, hours before the High Court was to give its verdict in the case.
Police suspect the deceased, S. Srinivas Yadav, 42, hanged himself after getting indications from advocates that the High Court verdict would go against him. He had reportedly told several friends over the last few days that he feared adverse ruling. Yadav was found dead in Ashok Law Group’s office at Abids.
A resident of Ramnagar, he was also involved in another attempt-to-murder case, registered by Chikadpally police, which is pending in HC. According to the police, Yadav, who worked as an office staff in the lawyers’ office for six years, was found hanging from the ceiling fan when the building’s watchman came to wake him up. He had worked the night shift on Monday. “After Yadav’s advocate Venkat Rao Pitchuka informed the HC about his death, the court suspended the verdict,” said S. Ashok, managing partner of Ashok Law Group.
