Leaders expect Sept. to simmer
Leaders, cutting across every political party, are expecting several changes in the state in September, primarily regarding a decision on Telangana and change in leadership in the state Congress.
While everyone is eagerly awaiting word from Congress president Sonia Gandhi, there is no statement yet by any decision-making leader on the issue.
TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to Delhi on Sunday evening has further fuelled expectations.
Pro-Telangana parties and organisations have decided to mobilise the masses to march to the capital city on September 30, calling for a ‘Chalo Hyderabad’.
Telugu Desam leaders from Telangana are expected to join the march, even as the party is getting ready to clarify its stand on the is-sue in the next few days.
It is not yet clear whether TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu will defy objections expected to be raised by party leaders from the two other regions.
The BJP too is planning to organise a three-day Telangana poru baata in support of of Telangana in New Delhi, involving top party leaders.
Whether all these factors will force the Congress president to annou-nce a decision at the end of the Parliament Sess-ion remains to be seen.
