Kiran warns rioters of severe action
The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy said that SPs of communally sensitive districts were asked to step up policing and take all measures to prevent any further clashes. He also sent out a stern warning to miscreants who either indulged in or instigated violence that they will face severe consequences. He reiterated that the government would take all steps to keep the state crime and violence free.
The Chief Minister also asked officials to clear the pending files regarding compensation to the riot victims in Sangareddy and Adoni in Kurnool district. Meanwhile, the public, especially schoolchildren, had a tough time due to the curfew. ATMs, petrol bunks and shops remain closed not only in the curfew-imposed areas but in surrounding areas like Santoshnagar, Kanchanbagh and Dabeerpura. A large number of Class VIII and IX students, who are giving their annual exams, were seen stranded at the bus stops at IS Sadan and Santosh Nagar as there were hardly any buses or other means of transport.
