Kiran stays, Azad nixes rumours

AICC general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday denied reports that the Congress leadership was contemplating replacing Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana.

“There is no truth in these reports, I don’t know why such baseless and imaginative reports are appearing in the media daily; the high command is not thinking along those lines,” Mr Azad told reporters. Referring to his meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, he said that it was just a courtesy call and they had discussed state politics and not a change of leadership. On the Telangana issue, Mr Azad said that the party’s Central leadership might initiate some steps after completion of the ongoing Parliament Session
