KCR to target Congress
Peeved at Union ministers Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sushilkumar Shinde and Vayalar Ravi for ruling out Telangana and under increasing pressure from his party to adopt a more aggressive stance on the statehood demand, TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao is all set to target the Congress on the T-issue.
The TRS chief is reportedly peeved at the central Congress leaders for being dismissive of the T-dema-nd even while holding tal-ks with him in New Delhi.
Pressure is mounting on him to shun the Congress and revive the agitation since many party and TJAC leaders feel that the Congress high command was trying to take the TRS for a ride with glib talk on Telangana.
TRS chief is reportedly sore over Mr Azad, Mr Shinde and Mr Ravi for ruling out Telangana and even hinting that he had met them on his own.
“Though KCR is still confident that Congress high command would keep up its promise, but the statements of the Union ministers has hurt him a lot,” TRS politburo member A. Chandrasekhar said.
Mr Rao would be chairing his party’s two-day brain storming session in Karimnagar on November 7 and 8, during which he is expected to brief his party leaders and cadre on his interaction with Congress leaders in New Delhi recently, subsequent developments, and chalk out the next course of action to strengthen the party from the grassroots level.
Mr A. Chandrasekhar said the TRS now has no option but to intensify the T-agitation.
Mr Rao had claimed that Telangana would be anno-unced by Dasara but on the contrary, the Congress leadership, including the high command, the CM and Seemandhra leaders have repeatedly asserted that there was no deadline for Telangana. Some of them even ruled out bifurcation of the state citing national interests.
The TRS chief had even skipped T- march to stay put in New Delhi, but in vain. Finding no response from Centre, Mr Rao has now focused on weaning away pro-T MLAs from other parties.
