Jewellery shop thieves nabbed
Begum Bazaar police busted a gang of burglars and arrested six persons in relation with the theft at Rudrangi Prakash Jewellers and seized stolen goods worth Rs 93 lakh. One of the gang members is absconding, police said on Saturday. Police recovered 2.41 kg gold, 70.24 kg silver and Rs 6,000 in cash from the gang.
The theft took place at the jewellery outlet at Siddiamber Bazaar on the night of May 27. Police identified the arrested gang members as Narayan Singh Rajpurohit, 26, Rajaram Kumavath, 23, Gopal Singh Rajpurohit, 23, Mahender Chowdary, 23, Jalam Singh Rajpurohit, 22, Ramesh Kumar Rajpurohit, 25, all from Rajasthan. Police said Mahender Chowdhary, Jalam Singh Rajpurohit and Ramesh Kumar Rajpurohit were arrested from Rajasthan, while the rest were nabbed from the city. Police said Mahender Singh and Jalam Singh broke into the shop by drilling a hole in the wall. They brought the goods out while the other five gang members stood guard outside.
