Jaipal: I stalled decision on gas for months
Lashing out at people targeting him for the diversion of gas from the KG Basin to Ratnagiri plant in Maharashtra, Union minister for petroleum and natural gas S. Jaipal Reddy on Monday said the critics lack basic knowledge of the issue.
Mr Reddy said it was he who had stalled the decision to divert the gas for almost eleven months since he knew the problems faced by AP as a public representative hailing from the state. He was speaking at a programme organised by BC associations to felicitate him for deciding to reserve 27 per cent petrol pumps for the BC community. Mr Reddy said he would have to explain to Parliament the delay in implementing the Group of Ministers’ decision on diversion of gas to Ratnagiri plant.
