Impartial probe on against ASP

Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy has said that an impartial probe is on against suspended Rampachodavaram ASP Naveen Kumar.

The allegations of police officials links with ganja smugglers are being probed, she said. Ms Sabita spoke to reporters after the Telangana advocates JAC lead by T. Sriranga Rao met her on Saturday and submitted a representation demanding the lifting of the suspension.

The advocates alleged that Naveen Kumar was targeted as he hailed from the Telangana region. “When P.S.R. Anjeneyulu spoke openly to the press no action was taken. Why only Naveen is targeted for talking to the media,” asked the advocates. They said that Naveen is facing threat to his life. Reacting to this, the minister said that an impartial probe is on into the allegations. She said the government had received a preliminary report over the issue.
