Illegal assets stand in way of Telangana: KCR
Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday ruled out any compromise on Telangana with Hyderabad as capital. “We want Telangana with Hyderabad as the capital. There cannot be any compromise on this issue. Bifurcation of state is now imminent,” Mr Rao asserted.
The TRS chief made the comments during a discussion on “Hyderabad, Sirf Hamara”, a TV programme. Mr Rao alleged that a handful of Andhra leaders were putting obstacles in the creation of Telangana since they were in possession of large tracts of land, assigned and or taken illegally. He said the issue was not about investments in Hyderabad but about the illegal assets.
“There is no problem if they have legal assets. The problem arises when they are in possession of certain lands which are illegal. These leaders are worried about such lands and not about lawful properties in Hyderabad,” the TRS chief said. He dismissed the talk of ‘Rayala-Telangana’ and asked Telangana people not to get confused over such “frivolous issues”.
