I am not responsible: Aruna
When the turn of Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannadham came to felicitate newly-appointed DCC president Obedullah Kotwal in Mahbubnagar, he began his speech by saying that the Congress in the state has been suffering defeats both in Telangana and other regions.
He demanded the Centre announce separate Telangana state immediately, otherwise the party would suffer badly in the coming days. This angered the supporters of minister D.K Aruna, party MLC S. Jagadeeswar Reddy and Vishnuvardhana Reddy, who went on a rampage, flinging chairs at Mr Jagannadham and accusing him of being responsible for the defeat of Mr Vishnuvardhan Reddy.
Mr Jagannadham retorted by calling him a criminal and questioned how he was selected as the candidate. In the melee, three chairs hit Mr Jagannadham which left him so infuriated that he accused the minister of engineering the attack, screaming, “You want to kill me like this?” Police finally brought the situation under control. Later Ms Aruna denied any organised attack. “I did not organise any attack on him. How can I be held responsible if some workers expressed their ire against the MP?” she said.
