I am not a broker for Naidu, says Narayana

Announcing that the CPI would take part in the Telangana poru yatra from August 25 to September 3, the party’s state secretary, Mr K. Narayana, on Monday said he is not a “broker” to try and convince the TD president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, on supporting Telangana. “Let the TD decide (on its own),” Mr Narayana said when asked whether he would convince Mr Naidu to support Telangana.

Mr Narayana also called TD’s promise to give tickets to 100 candidates from BC communities in 2014 elections and the YSR Congress’s demand for reservation of 100 seats for BCs as “vote-bank politics.” “They are trying to lure BCs. Reservation of seats for BCs is possible only through a Consti-tutional amendment. So if the two parties are sincere, they must fight for a Constitutional amendment,” he said. He said the Telangana yatra will begin from Paloncha in Khammam
