Half kg gold, 1 kg silver robbed from jewellery shop
More than half-a-kilo of gold and silver ornaments weighing about a kilo were stolen from the Sri Sai Venkateswara Jewellery shop in LB Nagar. The theft was discovered by the shop owner when he opened the shop on Saturday morning. The thieves had made a small hole in the wall through an adjoining diagnostic laboratory to access the jewellery store.
E.Nagabhushan Chary, the owner of the shop, said, “When I opened the shop on Saturday, I found all the jewellery missing... More than 50 tola gold and a kilo of silver ornaments worth Rs 50 lakh are missing.” LB Nagar inspector P. Srinivas Reddy said, “The hole is so small that only very lean person or a child can fit into it.”
