Commemorating the passion and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Archbishop of Hyderabad, Rev. Thumma Bala, on Friday said, “We need to start living a passionate life to make our lives meaningful.”

Addressing the congregation of Syro Malabar Catholic community on the occasion of Good Friday at St Francis School ground, the Archbishop said, “Without passion we will not be able to do any good to ourselves, or for others.” He wished the congregation for the upcoming Easter.

The community members meditated on the seven words of Jesus and took part in the veneration of the cross at St Francis church after the Good Friday sermon. The community carried out ‘The Way of the Cross’ in a procession in the afternoon, with youngsters enacting scenes from Passion of the Christ to explain the significance of Christ’s suffering on cross. Meanwhile, Christians thronged various churches in the city on Friday. The Passion Play was enacted at various churches.
