Girl fights with sisters for remote, ends life
A 17-year-old girl committed suicide after a quarrel with her younger sisters over changing a TV channel at Dundigal. Police said the deceased, P. Amulya, a resident of Suraram Colony, hanged herself to death in her home on Sunday night. The incident came to light when her parents found that Amulya had locked herself inside the bedroom. Even though they called her, she didn’t open the door. When they broke open the door, they saw Amulya hanging from the ceiling, Dundigal police said.
According to Dundigal inspector of police V. Bhaskar, the victim had a fight with her twin sisters Divya and Sandhya about changing the TV channel. “When she asked for the TV’s remote control, they didn’t give it to her. So she fought with them, and went to her bedroom and hanged herself,” he said. Police has booked a case under Section 174 of the IPC and started an investigation.
