Gali sought bail at any cost, says kin

Mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy’s relative, G. Dasarath Ram Reddy, who was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for his alleged involvement in the cash-for-bail scam, confessed that Janardhan Reddy requested him to get bail by influencing CBI judges “at any cost” during mulakats at the Chanchalguda prison.

A businessman by profession, Dasarath Ram Reddy got close to Gali’s family as his daughter is married to Janardhan Reddy’s nephew. In his confession statement to the ACB, Dasarath Reddy revealed that he accompanied Gali’s brother Somasekhar Reddy to visit Janardhan Reddy at the prison. When the duo sought ways to contact the CBI judges, they met Lakshmi Narasimha Rao through an acquaintance and were ready to pay Rs 100 crore.

Dasarath Reddy said they agreed to pay Rs 15 crore just to bring Pattabhi Rama Rao for discussions. However, the judge refused to meet them. It was then that the duo approached junior advocate Aditya who introduced them to the real estate broker Yadagiri Rao. Dasarath Reddy revealed that it was Yadagiri Rao who promised them to get in touch with the judge.

Judge alleges manhandling by ACB
The status of judge K. Lakshmi Narasimha Rao’s other petitions in the cash-for-bail case are not known. He is lodged as an under-trial prisoner in the jail after being arrested for allegedly trying to influence a CBI judge for granting bail to mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy. In the petition Mr Rao said he had not made any confessions and that it was a false statement.

“On July 11, ACB officials lead by joint director Sampath Kumar and DSP Krishnudu came to my house at 5.30 am and abused me and my family members. They frightened all of us and took away all documents and articles from my house without preparing an inventory of the articles seized and didn’t give any acknowledgement. At 6 pm a list of inventory was prepared and my signature was obtained on it,” alleged Mr Rao. “ACB cops manhandled and pushed me from the chair and pulled my shirt collar,” he added. He also alleged that a criminal conspiracy had been hatched to implicate him.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
