Gali seeks trial in Sharma court

Gali Janardhan Reddy has moved a memo before principal special judge for CBI cases A. Pullaiah that the hearing of his bail petition be transferred to II additional special judge B. Nagamaruthi Sharma. Mr Janardhan Reddy’s counsel E. Uma Maheswar Rao filed the memo while contending that parts of the arguments were heard by Mr Sharma. In a previous hearing, counsel Ram Jethmalani had appeared on behalf of Mr Janardhan Reddy and had submitted arguments before Mr Sharma.

The case was posted to April 25 following a request by the CBI as it wanted to rope in the Additional Solicitor-General to argue the bail matter. In the meantime, the judge was transferred and posted as II additional special judge for CBI cases. The petitioner contended that parts of the arguments were already heard by Mr Sharma. Also, it would be expensive to get Mr Jethmalani again and get his dates. The court posted the case to Friday for hearing.
