Gali’s relative sent to jail at Cherlapally
Mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy’s relative Guduru Dasrath Ram Reddy was sent from judicial custody to Cherlapally jail till August 3 in the cash-for-bail scam. Dasrath, 54, son of Papi Reddy, a native of Tirupati, was produced before the magistrate on Sunday. The ACB grilled him to find out the source of the cash which he gave Yadagiri to bribe CBI special judge T. Pattabhi Rama Rao to grant bail to Gali.
ACB director-general B. Prasada Rao said, “He was arrested on the night of July 21 and produced before the ACB special judge who remanded him to judicial custody. He is an accused for bribing CBI judge Pattabhi with crores of rupees in order to get bail order for Gali Janardhan Reddy, an accused in the mining scam case.” ACB sources said that Dasrath Ram Reddy is an accused in both the cash-for-bail scam cases. “Initially, he and Karnataka MLA Gali Somasekhar Reddy tried to get bail through Judge Lakshmi Narasimha Rao. When that failed, Dasrath tried to get it through Yadagiri and Chalapathi Rao and was successful. He was with Somasekhar Reddy in the bribe transactions.” The accused Karnataka MLAs G. Somasekhar Reddy and T.H. Suresh Babu are likely to be arrested by the ACB soon sources said.
