Focus on making police friendlier
The city police organised a workshop on Saturday for cops on how to humanise policing. Senior police officials said the workshop named ‘People Centric Policing,’ the first of its kind, was conducted at the Purani Haveli Complex. The workshop which was held with the collaboration of GE volunteers, would be held every week on Saturdays in coming months.
South Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Akun Sabarwal said the four-hour programme would include all police officials regardless of their ranks, and it would equip them with good human qualities. “The cops can learn how to interact with the common man politely, and handle cases positively,” he said. “Today, SHOs from 23 police stations attended. In future, all officials including constables would be included in the workshop,” Mr Sabarwal said.
