ED to question Geeta on permit to Brahmani

The Enforcement Directorate is inquiring into allegations of money laundering by Brahmani Industries Limited (BIL) owned by former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.

On Friday, the Enforce-ment Directorate filed a petition in the special CBI court asking for permission to question the accused in the case involving Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) owned by Mr Janardhan Reddy, who is already under arrest.

The Central Bureau of Investigation, which had filed two chargesheets regarding the OMC case, has shifted its focus to BIL.

CBI sources said that the then minister for major industries, Ms J. Geeta Reddy, is likely to be questioned about various permissions given to BIL.
